Ingredients
  

Dough Base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp cold butter grated for even distribution
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Glaze

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions
 

  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until the dough just comes together.
  • On a floured surface, press the dough into a 10x12-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly into a log and chill for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the mini waffle maker to medium heat. Slice the chilled dough into 1-inch rounds and place them in the waffle iron. Cook for about 3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Whisk together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm waffles and serve immediately.
